Nordic Race Results

Bend Nordic skiers concluded a week of racing with notable results at the US National Championships in Rumford, ME.

Highlights from the week include Dakota Blackhorse von Jess’ 5th place finish in the Skate Sprint at US Nationals as well as his 11th place finish in the Classic Sprint.

Darragh Hildreth, Reitler Hodgert, and Pat Madden also represented Bend Nordic at US Nationals.

Locally, Bend Nordic skiers had a fantastic weekend of racing at the Sunnyside Pursuit- a Junior National Qualifying race for the Pacific Northwest Division.

Michael Widmer was the fastest skier in Bend this weekend- winning the overall Sunnyside Pursuit.

Isabel Smith placed second overall in the Sunnyside Pursuit- chasing former Olympic skier Suzanne King.

In the younger categories- Chase Ricker placed 2nd in the J3 Classic race.  Seven skiers from Bend Nordic raced in the J3 Category. Sam Biskup and Hannah Mavis are only J4s- but decided to ‘race up’ a category.

Vivian Hawkinson placed 3rd in the J2 Girls Classic race.  

Bend Nordic’s J1 Boys swept the podium in the classic race with Ryan St. Clair in 1st followed by Nick St. Clair and Kelly Smallwood.

Bend Nordic/COCC skier, Joe Madden won the overall pursuit in the SR men’s category.
