Community Bike Rodeos

The Bend Endurance Academy has taken part in 3 free Community Bike Rodeos this month: NWX Spring Festival, Redmond Home and Garden Expo, and Bear Creek School.

At each Rodeo- Academy staff and athletes volunteer to help young cyclists complete an obstacle course filled with bumps, jumps, ramps and many other fun obstacles. The goal is to help participants improve their balance, coordinaton, agility and overall bike handling skills.

According to cycling coach Brenna Warburton, “The first lap around the course is challenging for most participants. But with help from our volunteers the majority of the young riders are ripping around the course. It’s amazing to see their improvement within a mere 20 minutes.”

Bike Rodeo equipment was designed and built by local cycling legend Marcel Russenburger and Russenburger kindly donated his equipment for the events.
