A few of us went to Eugene on Sunday for the Icebreaker Criterium on a cloudy spring day. It sprinkled a bit but the temps were just right for bike racing. Cole Sprague raced the cat4 group in the morning and finished in the middle of the 30-rider pack. He then joined Colin Dunlap and Keenan Branch for the junior’s race where the older kids rode together until about 4 laps to go when the field broke apart in the head-wind section.
Cole finished 3rd, Colin 5th and Keenan 6th.
Curt Hawkinson came out to take some photos for us. His original gallery is online here.
Omer Kem was there with his Capitol Velo junior team from Salem. It’s cool to see some younger juniors, especially some girls, getting into road racing and we’re excited to get our teams together for more races in the future!
